The Secretary of State for Department of Communities and Local Government – Eric Pickles – has gone against the recommendation of his Planning Inspector and dismissed the planning appeal by Peel Energy to develop nine wind turbines on the former Asfordby Mine site in Leicestershire.
Melton Borough Council originally refused planning permission for the wind farm in July 2012 despite the council’s Planning Officer recommending the application should be approved.
