Construction and transport

During the temporary construction phase of the wind farm, there would be a requirement for wind turbine components and other material to be delivered by road. However, once the wind farm is operational there would be minimal traffic entering and leaving the site. The construction period is expected to be between 12-18 months.
A full transportation assessment has examined the surrounding road network to identify a suitable route to deliver the wind turbines without causing unacceptable disturbance.
A construction management plan would be prepared in agreement with Melton Borough Council prior to any development commencing. This would set out proposed hours of working and a range of other measures to ensure that disturbance and inconvenience during the construction period is kept to a minimum. |
