Asfordby Wind Farm – our proposals

The Asfordby Wind Farm is a proposed 9 turbine Wind Farm with an installed capacity of up to 20.7MW to be located in Asfordby, Leistershire. The Wind Farm would be designed to have an operational life of at least 25 years and would provide enough electricity to meet the average needs of more than 8,500 homes – 33% of the households in the Borough of Melton.
A planning application for the Asfordby Wind Farm was submitted to Melton Borough Council in December 2010. In July 2010, the Council's Development Committee voted to refuse planning permission. Peel Energy is now considering their position to appeal the decision.
