The completed technical and environmental studies undertaken indicate that the site is in a suitable location to accommodate a Wind Farm.
The site itself comprises 85 hectares of vacant land and does not form part of any statutory landscape designation (such as national parks or Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The proposal would be an effective use for a former mineral extraction site.
The site allows for sufficient distance between the turbines and residential properties,
enabling us to satisfy stringent noise regulations.
Through its emerging Core Strategy, Melton Borough Council is proposing the release of significant amounts of land for new residential and employment generating development. As well as introducing energy efficiency measures, local communities will have to find local sources of low carbon energy to enable this growth to proceed in a sustainable manner. |
