Electricity for homes and businesses
|
The wind farm is predicted to generate enough electricity to meet the average needs of approximately 15,500 homes – around 20% of the households in Northumberland.
The electricity would be distributed onto the national grid for use in the community but could also be used by other Blue Sky Forest developments, such as the proposed sports academy and hotel, to assist the complex in coming carbon neutral.
The turbines can be connected to the national grid through underground cables without needing additional overhead power lines and the electricity distributed according to demand.
