A range of species and habitat surveys has been undertaken in order to understand the ecology of the site.
The survey methodologies have been discussed and agreed with statutory consultees, including Natural England, to ensure that the approach adopted is suitable to assess the impact of the proposed development.
Ornithological assessments included surveys of bird activity on and around the site and have concluded that flight paths would not be affected and the turbines would pose no significant threat to populations.
Surveys for terrestrial ecology and habitats found there is some limited bat activity on the site. No other protected species have been identified.
These findings have informed the Wind Farm design to ensure that potential impacts on ecological features are avoided or mitigated.
