Noise

In developments of this nature the potential noise impact of construction, operation, and decommissioning are a significant consideration. As part of the planning application noise is considered in detail. The scope of the study has been agreed with Trafford Council.

It is proposed that that biomass fuel is delivered ready to use at the site so no wood processing will occur. The biomass will also be stored in enclosed buildings before being fed into the boiler house by an enclosed conveyor.
Buildings such as the boiler house and turbine hall will be acoustically clad to minimise operational noise.

The assessment of operational noise is based on a combination of measured background noise levels and predictions based on factors that could influence noise generation.

The noise assessment undertaken demonstrates that extra noise generated from plant construction, road traffic and operations would be negligible.
