The application follows Peel Energy acquiring the rights to the proposed wind farm last year and carrying out a full public consultation with the local community on outline plans for the project. The purpose of this consultation was to allow the local community to have a say on the wind farm layout, including the size and number of turbines.

Bernadette Barry, Development Manager for Peel Energy said “We’ve been encouraged by the level of support and positive feedback from the local community so far. We would urge anyone with a view on the project to now submit a formal representation to the Scottish Government.”

Views can be submitted to the Scottish Government via email or post and must state the name of the scheme, the name of the person submitting their view, plus a full return email and postal address. Submissions to be emailed or posted no later than 19 April 2016 to the following:

Email: representations@scotland.gsi.gov.uk

Post: The Scottish Government, Energy Consents Unit, 4th Floor, 5 Atlantic Quay , 150 Broomielaw, Glasgow, G2 8LU.

Bernadette added: “Peel was keen to ensure that local people were fully engaged throughout the design process at Beaw Field and had the opportunity to provide meaningful input into the project design. We are committed to continuing this dialogue throughout the planning process and to providing lasting and tangible benefits to the communities in which we operate.”
