At Peel, we develop renewable energy projects on a commercial scale. From a handful of turbines on a busy city dockside to large developments on open moorland, we ensure that our developments capture the greatest amount of available energy without compromising the needs of local stakeholders and the environment.

Our flagship developments at Liverpool, Scout Moor, Sheerness and Seaforth are all wind farms. From this strong base, we are exploring other low-carbon energy sources, including tidal, biomass and multi-fuel with carbon capture and storage (CCS).
We invest heavily in early-stage development work (feasibility studies, environmental scoping and consultation) to ensure that our projects are properly scoped and stand the greatest chance of gaining consent.
Our future potential development projects include a tidal power scheme on the Mersey Estuary, which could provide enough power for over 260,000 homes, and biomass power stations across the country. We have also teamed up with DONG Energy to develop a multi-fuel (coal and biomass) power station with CCS on a commercial scale.
